Good news for love seekers in their 40’s and above. Surprises await you online that can truly make your heart swell with love.

How long have you been looking for love? Did you try to look in every corner, leaving no stone unturned? Do not despair, there is still hope. Look no further. The Internet might be the big answer to your single blessedness.

I remember how my aunt Danica, 53 insisted me to give her a tutorial on how to send an e-mail. She also asked me to sign-up her up in an online dating site. She was excited to show me her picture that was just taken at the studio and requested me to scan it.

Usually, a great amount of interest pushes you to do something with the hopes of giving you the best. In a week’s time, Auntie learned the ways online and was on her own. When you want it to work for you, you will have the ample determination needed for you to get results. She found love after a few online dates with David, 57. I can still recall how my aunt delightfully sounded, “I found the man I prayed for.” David, a Canadian baker from Calgary decided to fly over half way across the world to propose to my aunt. And they live happily ever after.

Indeed, the Internet is the best matchmaker there is! Online dating gives people a wide range of selection. From there, you can make better choices for a lifetime partner. However, you must have the ingredients that make online love a lasting experience. It should transcend distance, luck, and perfect timing.

Bear in mind, 50’s is the new 20’s. Come out from that nutshell and expose yourself to new possibilities you have never imagined. Age is not a factor. Sit in front of the computer and explore, awaken your optimism and give it a shot. Make your life a continuing adventure. Invite change into your world and start now.

Do you have a realm of thoughts that you want to share to the world? Whether you are a student, a mom, a CEO or a baby boomer, go blog about it! And since you’re at it, you want to climb up the ladder of blogging success. To achieve that success, it is important that blogging newbies focus on a few helpful advices along the way.

Mere content is insufficient. You do not focus on making exceptional content alone. All the other bloggers have content too. Go beyond exceptional content and add some sparkle and uniqueness into that blog of yours. Make it a unique one. Make it an extension of yourself, thus letting your blog stand out from the rest. Uniqueness is the key. Do not talk about the same issues or topics being tackled on other blogs. Stay unique and think outside of the box. Differentiate yourself from other bloggers in your niche.

Ever heard of the adage “Dress to impress?” This applies to blogs too. Think of an attractive design for your blog that will give a good impression to your readers. This design should be appropriate for the subject you want to tackle. It brands yourself and will speak more of what your blogging on.

Research for the best hosting provider you can possibly use. Foremost, consider your budget without sacrificing quality. Be sure to choose the best host to match your best content.

Identify who your audience or readers are, they will be your potential clients. To top all that, knowing who your readers are will help you decide what to write. Of course, you do not want to write about something that nobody will be interested reading about.

Create an archive of your blog. Always make a back-up of the articles you posted in your blog, in case the system crashes down. This can happen anytime, and you do not want to be left empty handed trying to pick up the pieces all over again.

Do some networking. Join in the social media circle and meet up other bloggers. Look into other blogs and get a buzz of what they are blogging about. Mingle around, comment on their posts. This way they might even visit your blog and comment on your site too. Try social media networking such as Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and many others. Dedicate this account for your niche blog.

Look up to seniors. Ask for tips and advices from senior bloggers or probloggers. They are seasoned enough to give you an idea on the how-to-s and more secrets in blogging.

Start mastering the art and science of blogging. It doesn’t happen over night, it takes time. Try new things and expect amazing results as soon as its ripe for you. Good luck!

Fact: Facebook has about 500 million active users, with 50% logging in every day. Twitter has 190 million members, and are tweeting 65 million times a day. At least 90 percent of Internet users know at least one of the many social media networks around.

Now, who doesn’t want to take advantage of that?

As social media grows rapidly everyday, building a presence towards your audience matters. You can do this by coming up with a unique social media initiative that will impress your prospective clients. Here are some tips on making your business game plan stand out from the rest.

Content.

A persuasive, compelling content is your driving force in your business campaign. Talk about informative and helpful subject matters that will wow your audience. Let your audience crave for more and keep them coming back.

Distribution.

You made good content, what now? Make some noise and get people to hear it. Increase your online presence and have more people see and hear you. This will offer bigger results of converting them into customers.

Human Interaction.

Reach out to humans by being human. Do not rely on automated services, it lacks the X-factor humans have. Invest your time into your social media circle and socialize.

Execution.

Proper execution of your mapped out plans requires proper timing. Do this by using the correct tools and channels. What’s the use of Twitter or Facebook, take advantage of it and make it work. Social sites are fast medium to get the word out. Use your blog and have people share their insights and feedback on your product.

In this age of social media people get to witness what’s going on globally in a matter of minutes or less. Nothing can explain this fact better than the January 2010 catastrophe that hit Haiti in the form of an earthquake. People’s ability to act and support communities has greatly been increased.

The American public retweeted and posted on Facebook quickly and in even greater quantity. The social media manager at the American Red Cross Wendy Harman said that the kind of response received from the public was unprecedented for the Red Cross. She said it was the first time she truly felt like people were using these tools to take action for a good cause.

Some benefits of social media are as follows:

Democratization of Media: It has been a tumultuous time of change for many industries much of it driven by the Internet. The newspaper industry has been particularly affected by the Web and over the past 10 years, news media has under gone change parallel to the invention of the printing press in 1440. Blogging was a direct challenge to the newspapers and ended up shaking up the print media world. The traditional media has had to up its game as anyone can now publish 140 characters to the Web whether they are a writer or not and this might end up as breaking news as it was proven by the Hudson River plane crash.

Creativity and Remix Culture: Remix is a collage or a recombination of existing, reference images or music mashed up into something new. According to street artist Shephard Fairey, Remix is literacy in the 21st Century. Copyright scholar Larry Lessig and author Steven Johnson have argued for free expression saying remix is form of self expression that should be allowed to flow without restriction across today’s digital world. The social media’s nature to travel globally has played a big role in trying to achieve this.

Communal Sharing and Connecting: Starting a business can be lonely but now, due to the increasing accessibility of people, ideas and information web communities can be based around business, entrepreneurship. Facebook and Twitter together with other social networks have become an amazing way to learn new lessons and keep in touch with other entrepreneurs.

Transparency in government and organizations: As the social media bug spreads, government and organizations are not left behind. People are now visiting the government sites to get factual information on legislative texts. They are able to give their views and feedback and this keeps the organizations in check. Other sites such as Tweet Congress allow citizens to find their elected officials and contact them directly. Transparency is a huge step because it is government’s way of saying they want to be collaborative and engage with citizens.

Every good thing has its flaws and the same applies to Social Media. The world has embraced the new tools helping thousands of people to interact and distance is no longer a barrier. According to statistics young people form the bulk of the fan base of the social medial outlets. As an entrepreneur there are some top cons that you have to face when employing the services of different social media and these are some of them.

News in the social media spread like bushfire around the world because of the viral potential of the media. This is the case even when the news are negative or in bad taste. One malicious posting from an individual can cause the good name of your company to be tarnished in a matter of hours. The problem with such this viral spread of the message is that the damage caused might be irreversible.

Building a brand through the social media is a lengthy process as it is continuous. A business will have to spend a lot of time updating its audience on the relevant issues and the updates could come in by the hour. When you are established and pull a large crowd, it will be a laborious process trying to meet the needs of all the people in your crowd.

Social media is about give and take and the law of reciprocity applies here. When a user has a response to an update you’ve given you should be there to reply to their queries enough to satisfy the curiosity. If this is not done properly, the audience will lose their faith in you and will reflect poorly on you.

Social media by nature changes constantly and there is a need to stay abreast with upcoming sites and make the necessary change. This is the only way you are able to safeguard the interest of your business.

Recent conversations between my 20-something nieces and nephews include, “Have you seen my profile in Facebook?” or “Have you read Ashton (Kutcher) and Demi’s (Moore) latest tweets?” Facebook and Twitter are just two examples of sites where people can talk to each other. This “talking to each other in the Internet” is coined as social media.

As an entrepreneur, you may be wondering how you can make use of this trend to the advantage of your business. It’s quite simple actually. Think of the “word of mouth” advertising. People talk in these sites about how they feel at the very moment as well as trivial matters about the world, politics, sports events and religion. They might have come across your products too, and decided to mention it over their personal pages to say that they liked or disliked them. Who knows?

They could campaign for or against you depending on how much your products have satisfied them. If they don’t, your business is in grave danger of losing buyers as campaigners can gather a reasonable number of people who will turn against your company. If they do like what you’re selling however, you’ll see the positive effects it will bring to your company.

Some people, to some extent, will even honour your brand through their personal pages. The same has happened to brands like Coke, Starbucks and the likes. Good experiences are shared in these pages making other people aware of the “goodness” of your products.

The knowledge provided by the usefulness of social media basically gives you the idea of how you could steer your marketing strategy to promote your business. Social media lets you be aware of the things that make people tick with regard to the product you’re selling.

This doesn’t mean however, that you just go right ahead and open a Twitter or a Facebook account. You have to make certain preparations and adjustments to the things that you want out of social media. Meaning you will have to employ several plans and choose the best one that has the highest percentage of working well. To make the most effective use of time on social media when using it as a way to market your business, is to develop a strategy to bring focus to your efforts. Some of my clients have tried social media marketing without taking the time to develop a specific strategy from their business, and just feel as if they are spinning their wheels. After we have worked together to develop a customized strategy for their specific business goals , they become motivated because they quickly see the ROI for their marketing efforts.

One of the things that you should consider, for example, is the content that you’ll be feeding the public on these social networking sites. You have to refrain from talking too much about what your business is about. This an interaction between you and the consumers, not a monopoly of knowledge on the products.

To avoid losing so many followers and “friends” in these sites, remind yourself of the following: to make friends first and foremost, to listen to what people are saying about your products, to respond in an interesting tone (while incorporating your products to the response)and to update your company as well as your site. Hear what they say and make them realize that “yes, you are listening” by applying the favourable changes in your products. You may also invite people by posting promotional events on your products and some offers. This would make them feel that they make a difference to your business, which is undeniably true. They do.

The problem is most of us are too busy doing what we feel we should be doing instead of doing what we really want.

Not so for this guy…

I want to introduce you to a friend of mine named Robert Grant who has a really inspiring story of how he left a dissatisfying 9 to 5 job to pursue his passion and create a highly successful 6 figure business.

Being a self-confessed tech dummy he had to do it all using Facebook. In fact he began his first major successes without even a website.

He has since shared his easy to implement strategies with thousands of people and a large number of his students have achieved fast results implementing his proven blueprint.

Robert is giving away some of his best kept secrets in this video ….

I promise you’ll discover at least eight things you can start doing on Facebook right now, that will dramatically impact your business—and by that I mean astounding profitability.

Did you know there are three deadly sins on Facebook that could destroy your credibility and presence in social media? You really need to hear this… Robert shares them in his video

After seeing how consistently reliable this is, I’m already doing this, and you should be too.I got so excited by what I learned about what Robert calls Crowd Conversion that I created a Squidoo lens about it

Robert Grant’s video

BTW you have to register to see this great content, but it’s definitely worth it

· If Mike, Dave and John go out, they will affectionately refer to each other as Fat Boy, Godzilla and Four-eyes.

EATING OUT·
When the bill arrives, Mike, Dave and John will each throw in $20, even though it’s only for 32.50.
None of them will have anything smaller and none will actually admit they want change back.
· When the girls get their bill, out come the pocket calculators.

MONEY
· A man will pay $2 for a $1 item he needs.
· A woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she doesn’t need but it’s on sale.

BATHROOMS
· A man has six items in his bathroom: toothbrush and toothpaste, shaving cream, razor, a bar of soap, and a towel ..
· The average number of items in the typical woman’s bathroom is 337. A man would not be able to identify more than 20 of these items.

ARGUMENTS·
A woman has the last word in any argument.
Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument.

FUTURE·
A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband.
· A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife.

SUCCESS
· A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend.

· A successful woman is one who can find such a man.

MARRIAGE·

A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn’t.· A man marries a woman expecting that she won’t change, but she does.

DRESSING UP·

A woman will dress up to go shopping, water the plants, empty the trash, answer the phone, read a book, and get the mail.· A man will dress up for weddings and funerals.

NATURAL·

Men wake up as good-looking as they went to bed.· Women somehow deteriorate during the night.

OFFSPRING·

Ah, children. A woman knows all about her children. She knows about dentist appointments and romances, best friends, favourite foods, secret fears and hopes and dreams.· A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

A married man should forget his mistakes. There’s no use in two people remembering the same thing!

As the baby boomer, my first introduction to computers that I remember was a school trip to some sort of computer exhibition. The focus seemed to be on how computers worked and there were examples of binary systems and flow diagrams and pictures of enormous computers that filled a room. Somehow I managed to live without computers really touching my life for several decades, apart from occasionally playing Pac-Man on my Dad’s computer when he wasn’t using it.

However with the development of computers and the Internet there came a point where I needed to learn to master this strange machine. The crunch point came when it was necessary for me to use a computer at work. I remember feeling embarrassed and frustrated when introduced to the mouse because I could never get that cursor to go where I wanted it to. I was around 40 years old at that time, and fortunately found with practice it was possible to move the mouse with dexterity.

Computers have come a long long way in a relatively short period of time. Now computers are no longer just used as equipment in a workplace scenario, but because of the Internet are used not only for gaining information quickly, but developing world wide social relationships based on similar interests.

It was with great interest that I read about a recent study today (Social Media Examiner)on usage of social networking by the different generations.

There has been a remarkable increase in the number of baby boomers participating in social media. The study defined ‘baby boomers’ as being between the age of 44 and 62, and ‘matures’ being between the age of 63 to 75.

Here are the results according to a study by eMarketers comparing numbers from 2008 to 2009. During this span of a year was a significant jump in the use of social media by baby boomers. What is even more interesting is the increase in usage by the matures generation.

Forty-six percent of Boomer respondents said they maintained a social network profile (compared to 30% in 2007, according to a recent Deloitte study).

Here’s the breakdown on 3 popular social sites:

Facebook:

* Baby Boomers using Facebook increased 107% from 2008 to 2009
* 73% of Boomers maintain a Facebook profile
* 90% of Matures maintain a Facebook profile (That number comes as a surprise considering it was the highest of all generations.)

Twitter:

* Twitter usage jumped 714% from 2008 to 2009
* 13% of Boomers maintain a Twitter account
* 17% of Matures maintain a Twitter account (again, higher than the Boomers!)

LinkedIn:

* 13% of Boomers
* 4% of Matures

It seems that baby boomers are going on social networking sites to keep in touch with relationships as well as making new ones. Another reason I suspect, is that boomers can find out what their kids are up to from their social media postings, and this is actually easier than tracking them down and having a conversation. Certainly this is been true for me. also there is an expectation that keeping up with technology will help boomers live a longer life using the computer as a mental stimulation.

So if you are baby boomer, in the mature category let me ask you: “How long do you spend the day using social media sites?” ” What is it that motivates you to participate in social media?” “Or do you use the Internet for other things and not participate in social networking?”
